Despite the digital revolution, the act of reading hasn’t changed very much over the years.
Except it has changed. The very article the above quote is lifted from is littered with hyperlinks. To stumble upon links in a otherwise linear text changes the text, it creates new threads for the reader to follow, it transforms the text(s) to a rhizome.
And I could mention the plethora of electronic literature which in addition to changing the way we read, challenges the concept of reading itself.
